As part of a research of municipalities' interest in elements of the so-called blue-green infrastructure, Green Circle in cooperation with the law firm Frank Bold Advokáti approached a total of 250 municipalities. The aim was to find out information about the practice of using specific measures, such as seepage areas, tree planting or rainwater management.

Even a landscape degraded by opencast coal mining and acid rain can reduce the effects of climate change. Kadaň in northwestern Bohemia, surrounded by mines and two coal-fired power plants, has invested in flowery meadows, trees and rainwater, and thus sets an example in sustainable access to water and public space.

There used to be just a hot road full of cars in the centre of Vienna just a couple of days ago, now Viennese can cool off in a swimming pool, have a picnic, watch a dance performance or simply relax. This temporary green and blue oasis in public space will be there for Viennese to enjoy until the end of August.
