Lower taxes for a green city
Katowice, as one of the cities worth following, focuses on ecology and environmental protection.
Numerous Green Budget projects lead to effective greening of concrete infrastructure. The involvement of residents helps to develop abandoned pots, create new flower meadows, parks, retention reservoirs or plant trees. But that's not the end...
Climate protection at a lower cost
The Climate Commission of the City of Katowice has proposed an exemption from property taxes for residential buildings, which will have one of three alternatives to concrete infrastructure:green gardens all over the roof, vertical gardens on more than half of the building wall and green facades rooted in the ground all over the wall. The request met with a positive reaction from the Mayor of the City, and therefore it was submitted to the City Hall as a draft resolution. The tax relief will be valid for one year, with the possibility of extending it in connection with the further maintenance of the created green infrastructure.
The innovative idea supports the city's green policy
It improves the climate and supports residents who care about the environment. Total tax exemption will be available for buildings up to six storeys. Buildings above six floors will be eligible for a 50% discount. Residents of Katowice and entrepreneurs will be able to take advantage of the relief. Moreover, the exemption will be possible for usable areas of residential premises, with the exception of areas for business purposes.
