Nominate now at www.adapterraawards.cz.
Pocket Parks in Wroclaw, Poland are one example of suchaclever climate solution. This series of seven parks serves as a means of measuring how much the green spaces are able to reduce heat in urban areas. This complex of greenery is a part of Grow Green project whose aim is to test the effectiveness of nature-based solutions in building urban climate resilience. The areas for parks were chosen by the residents themselves.
Similarly, Rain Garden project from Slovak capital Bratislava responds to climate changebycapturingrainwater from the roof of the local authority building and paved areas. The water is then usedfor irrigation saving drinking water as well as finances.
Another Slovak project is a great example of countryside water management and sustainable electricity production. Organic Farm Šataník in the middle of the fields among three villages counts not only on regional and organic production, but also on a photovoltaicsystem and drip irrigation.
“Both small and complex projects are a valuable inspiration. We are looking for innovations from urban areas, working environment or house-level adaptations as well as landscapemanagement solutions.Share your idea with us!”
